Thursday, 1.30pm - A TRIP to meet the original calendar girls in Yorkshire last week was "wonderful" for 102-year-old nude calendar star Nora Hardwick.
Nora, from Ancaster, became a celebrity last year when she posed semi-naked as Miss November in a 2008 calendar sold to raise cash for the Ancaster Athletic Football Club's children's club.

Her trip to visit the Rylstone Women's Institute members, who were behind the blockbuster film Calendar Girls, is the latest in a string of outings.

She hit headlines all over the world and has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Great British Body with Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine.

Nora travelled to Linton-in-Craven with her son Robert and daughters Janice Dores and Maureen Gallagher, and met Tricia Stewart, played by Helen Mirren, and Angela Baker, played by Julie Walters, along with another three of the WI members.

Nora said: "We had a wonderful time.

"We met the ladies for lunch and it was very nice. We sat talking and had some pictures taken. They certainly had some stories to tell."

Nora has been raising money for the Ancaster Church Spire Repair Fund and she is appealing for anyone who would like to make a donation to contact the parish office on 01400 231145.
